superwhisper is a dictation app: in its own words, "Just speak. Write faster." — it turns your speech into polished, formatted text and works offline. Its output is text.

optionOS's output is a task packet. Speech is transcribed on-device with Whisper (with an optional cloud fallback if you choose); the real difference starts after that: what you copy while speaking, your screenshots, screen recordings and marked regions are embedded into the transcript in time order. When you tell an agent "do this, right there", the full evidence travels as one piece. Claude Code and Codex sessions in Ghostty also appear live on the Cockpit panel.

The choice comes down to this: for fast dictation into email, messages and documents, superwhisper does that job. If you finish work with an agent — where code, screen, marks and intent are needed together — optionOS carries that whole in one packet.
